Oswestry Cricket Club’s women and girls’ team rounded off another successful indoor cricket season by winning the Strategic Leisure Hardball Development League, beating fellow finalists, Shelton last week.
It was an excellent end to a winter of both softball and hardball formats which saw the younger members of the squad excelling across the board and contributing towards a number of superb wins.
Oswestry Women & Girls’ captain and coach, Naomi Payne, who has brought many of these young girls on from day one of their cricketing life at Oswestry CC expressed her delight at the way the team have performed over the winter.

Naomi said: "We have a fantastic group of women and girls here at Oswestry Cricket Club and the talent on show is truly impressive – especially amongst the younger members of the team. They’ve developed tremendously and make an impact every game without fail. It’s been an honour watching them progress during the indoor season.
"It was very pleasing to see the level of determination in the squad and the team spirit we have is something we can all be super proud of. As a squad, we now look forward to getting outdoors and continuing to showcase the talent of our young and ever-developing team."
