Chirk AAA bid to maintain their climb away from the JD Cymru North relegation zone with victory over Penrhyncoch on Saturday.

The Colliers have won their last two games to climb out of the relegation zone on goal difference.

Victory at home to the mid Wales side on Saturday could see the Holyhead Road club maintain their ascent and climb above Llanidloes Town in the table.

Coach Gary Jones was thrilled after Chirk marched to an emphatic 5-0 win at Porthmadog on Saturday.

He said: “As a group of coaches we’re happy to see the results coming to justify all the hard work the squad have been putting in.

OTHER NEWS:

“It was a very clinical and professional performance from us, once again our front line causing issues for a side and our defence with a well deserved clean sheet.”

Jones warned the players to underestimate bottom of the table Penrhyncoch at their peril with the Roosters running out of time to mount a survival bid with just 12 points to their name.

Jones said: “The game is a big one for the club, our form at home has been solid and it’s a big opportunity for us to take steps away from the drop.

“Equally Penrhyncoch will see this as an opportunity to close the gap so it will be a big game for both clubs.”
