The inaugural Chirk Triathlon is set to take place in 2025.
The brand-new event, organised by Swim Bike RunThrough, will be held on April 13.
The scenic sprint triathlon will start and finish at Chirk Leisure Centre, offering participants a picturesque race experience.
The triathlon will feature a 750-metre swim in the leisure centre pool, followed by a 14.5-mile cycle route through the countryside, passing Pontfadog and Glyn Ceiriog.
The event will conclude with a run along closed country roads.
Matt Wood, co-founder of Swim Bike RunThrough, said: "We’re thrilled to bring the Chirk Triathlon to life.
"It’s a fantastic addition to our calendar, combining stunning scenery with a course designed for both experienced triathletes and newcomers.
"We can’t wait to welcome participants to this incredible event."
The Chirk Triathlon is designed to be accessible for athletes of all abilities.
Participants will receive a race pack, which includes a medal and post-race refreshments.
Spectators are encouraged to attend and cheer on the competitors.
Entries for the Chirk Triathlon are now open.
Spaces are limited so those interested in participating should secure their place early.
