DELAYS to services between Gobowen and Chester on Wednesday morning was down to a lack of staff, according to National Rail.
Transport for Wales (TfW) services from Shrewsbury to Chester were affected from around 6.30am until around two hours later.
This had an ongoing impact on services towards Birmingham, Cardiff and Holyhead, said National Rail.

This morning, National Rail predicted the delays to last until 7pm and services between Chester and Shrewsbury would be affected.

However, according to TfW’s journey checker, services between Chester, Wrexham and Shrewsbury are all running without any cancellations or diversions.
A spokesman said: “Lines have now reopened between Wrexham General and Shrewsbury, following a shortage of signalling staff at Gobowen.
“While service recovers, trains running between these stations may still be cancelled, revised or diverted.”
