A MAN was arrested in Morda after an alleged assault against woman which led to passers-by offering support.
West Mercia Police said officers attended the village near Oswestry at around 2.10pm on Thursday (October 31) following calls expressing concerns for a woman.
It is alleged that a man attacked the woman close to the Morda Corner Shop, on the corner of Trefonen Road, where staff came to help her.
She was taken inside before the shop before the arrested man is alleged to have damaged goods on sale before he was arrested.

The shop, staff have confirmed, will be closed for most of Thursday.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called at around 2.10pm today (Thursday, October 31) to Greenfield Square in Morda to reports that an assault had taken place.
“A man was located and arrested, and remains in custody as enquiries are carried out.
“A woman was left in the care of the ambulance service.”
