AN ELLESMERE man who denied strangling and assaulting a woman has been told by a court that he must live in Wrexham as part of his bail conditions
Matthew Evans, 33, pleaded not guilty at Shrewsbury Crown Court to intentional strangulation and assault by beating in Ellesmere on October 1 this year.
Simon Parry, defending, said his client, whose bail conditions state that he must live at 12 Mayflower Drive in Wrexham, sought a change to allow him to move to his father's home in Dudleston Heath.

This would then change the bail conditions from not being allowed to enter Shropshire to being denied entry to Ellesmere’s town limits.
However, Recorder Adrian Jack said it was not an "appropriate change of bail conditions" and that Dudleston Heath was "too close" to Ellesmere so he needed to reside in Wrexham.
Evans will face a two-day trial beginning the week of June 23, 2025.
