A CLOSE-knit team of staff at a packing supplies company on the Shropshire-Wrexham border are celebrating a business award nomination.
Staff at Agritel Packaging Supplies, on the Gledrid Industrial Park near Chirk, will be donning their glad rags and heading off to party in February next year.
The company was this week nominated for Best Family Business of the Year at the BusinessDesk.com awards.
This, according to internal sales and e-commerce manager Maddie Hughes, is a huge achievement for the company.

She said: “This is actually a big deal and it’s actually really exciting to be nominated for the Best Family Business of the Year,” said Maddie, who was named Young Business Person of the Year at a separate event earlier this year.
“It’s recognition for both the agricultural and trade sides of the business.
“It’s a really good, genuine family business that was started by John Duffus in 1996 and then in 2019, it was taken on by his son Rob Duffus.
That means it is already a second generation family business.
“We’ve got 12 staff so that means it’s 12 people who are celebrating this nomination.
“It’s a really tight knit group of people that work here and it’s great to be celebrating this nomination as one team.
“The awards that we attended earlier in the year were brilliant and everyone is so excited about this event next year that it’s great to be celebrating.
“The message from the management team hasn’t changed through – it’s a huge well done but also keep up the good work that you’re doing.”
Maddie added that the nomination has been given on the basis of the commitment Agritel gives to its customers.
She said: “This recognition highlights our dedication to delivering high-quality products and services to our customers while maintaining the values and integrity of a family-owned business.
