The A5 has been closed near Nesscliffe after reports a crash trapped someone in their vehicle.
West Mercia Police have closed the A5 on the Nesscliffe bypass near the Felton Butler roundabout this afternoon (October 23).
In a post online, a spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: “The A5 is currently closed in both directions near to the Felton Butler Roundabout, Nesscliffe, Shrewsbury due to a collision.
“We appreciate your patience at this time.”

Emergency services have been called to the scene after a crash near the roundabout, with three crews called from Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service after reports of a person being trapped in their vehicle.
A spokesperson for Shropshire Fire and Rescue said: “At 1.35am on Wednesday, October 23, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service Fire Control received a call reporting that a Road Traffic Collision had taken place in Shrewsbury.
“Three fire appliances including the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Baschurch and Shrewsbury. An Operations officer was in attendance.
“Also at the scene of the incident were the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.”
Traffic information shows that traffic is moving slowly on the Nesscliffe side of the bypass and slow moving traffic on side roads.
