The new Chief Scout has praised the efforts of Owestry's young scouts and volunteers.
Dwayne Fields, who was appointed as the 11th Chief Scout for his commitment to helping young people, outstanding leadership skills, and values, acknowledged the work of the Owestry Scouts.
He said they are creating "brighter tomorrows for a new generation."
Mr Fields, said: "It’s such a great honour to take on the role of Chief Scout.
"A vital part of my mission is to encourage our scouts and volunteers to build their skills and find their future, and I’m really looking forward to meeting scouts in Owestry.
"I’d like to say thank you and well done for all our scouts do to support their local community.

The new Chief Scout said that the scouts gave him belief in himself as a child, and he wants others to have that same experience.
He believes that scouting is for everyone and wants to welcome as many young people as possible.
He also expressed his pride for the Oswestry scouts who will be earning their Chief Scout’s Awards and hopes to present some of these personally.
The adventurer continued: "Scouts gives thousands of young people a place to belong and find their place in the world.
"We give them the skills to succeed and belief in themselves.
"Scouts gave me belief in myself as a child when I needed it most, and I want others to get the same chance I did.
"I’m so incredibly proud that scouts in Oswestry will be earning their Chief Scout’s Awards, and I hope I’ll be able to present some of these personally."
He concluded with a message for all Owestry scouts and volunteers, saying: "So well done to every scout and volunteer in Oswestry.
"You’re champions of our community."
