ROAD users in Oswestry town centre are being urged to watch out for flooding after Welsh Walls was full of water on Wednesday.
After heavy rain overnight, much of the road that runs parallel to Cae Class Park is under water and cars cutting through from Upper Brook Street to Willow Street are to be warned.
Flooding appears to have affected much of the town with social media commenters stating that roads around College Road, out towards Trefonen and around Gobowen were also affected as the rain continues to fall.
Meanwhile a post from Oswestry's local SNT policing team on X said Gobowen Road had also fallen victim to flash flooding.
At present no rivers in north Shropshire are subject to flood alerts, but the Vyrnwy catchment over the border in Powys has a flood alert in place.
In a separate post the team also said the waves created by passing vehicles are already beginning to go into people's homes in Station Road in Gobowen.

Station Road, Gobowen has seen a flash flood with the junction of Coldwell Gardens and the Level Crossing. Highways have been informed and will be out to close the roads and assist where possible. Please find alternative routes. pic.twitter.com/brkoFgENjH
It appears that water is passing quickly through the roads and people are urged to take care.
Meanwhile, none of the usual areas of flooding in the villages around Oswestry are currently the subject of a flood alert or warning from the Environment Agency.
