AN OSWESTRY recording studio for top bands including Marillion, former girl band Cleopatra, the  internationally-acclaimed Fron Male Voice Choir and many rising stars is up for sale for £525,000.

On offer with estate agent Halls, The Old Smithy is tucked away off Church Street in Oswestry town centre and has been used as The Forge Recording Studio since the 1990s.

Shortly after reopening in 2019, the studio recorded Fron Male Voice Choir’s album Voices of the Valley: Echoes which quickly went to number one in the National Classic charts when released in 2021.

It was also used for mixing Marillion's 10th studio album - Radiation - and the band also recorded a live album in the town at the same time, Unplugged At The Walls, which was recorded at The Walls restaurant where the band reportedly offered to play a free gig in exchange for dinner.
