Over the last year the school competed in many sports including dance, gymnastics, football and tag rugby.

Steve Docking, chief executive officer (CEO) of North West Academies Trust which oversees the running of the school, said: “We’re very proud of the team at Ellesmere Primary School for achieving this award.

“It highlights our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality physical education, which encourages every child to be active, healthy, and engaged in sport.”

Participation in the School Games Mark process allows schools to assess their physical education provision and helps them build an action plan for continuous improvement. Ellesmere Primary School has embraced this process, developing an engaging and inclusive PE curriculum offering competitive and non-competitive sports activities for students of all abilities.

Through the school’s active engagement with local sporting clubs and initiatives, students have had numerous opportunities to participate in community events, developing not only their athletic skills but also important life skills such as teamwork, resilience, and leadership.

Hazel added: “We are now looking forward to another year of super sports.”
