A man was arrested for threatening a member of the public with a weapon in Oswestry town centre.
West Mercia Police have confirmed that they arrested an individual after he threatened someone with a “bladed instrument” in the early hours of Friday morning (October 11).
Local officers confirmed that they tracked down the man after he had threatened a member of the public on Willow Street.

According to Oswestry Safer Neighbourhood Team officers, the man was spotted in Oswald Road on Saturday afternoon.
After this they and members of the Oswestry Rangers teamed up to a apprehend the man and take him into custody.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: “An incident occurred on Willow Street, Oswestry in the early hours of Friday morning. During this incident a member of the public was threatened by someone who was in possession of a weapon.
“Officers from Oswestry SNT together with Oswestry CCTV operators made efforts to locate the suspect. This afternoon (October 12) he was seen walking around the town.

“The suspect was located on Oswald Road, where Town Centre Officers PS Lever and PC Watling assisted by Oswestry Town Street Rangers arrested him.
“He was arrested for the offences of affray and possession of a bladed article and is currently at the police station awaiting questioning.
“This was a great collaboration of technology, local knowledge and teamwork which resulted in a potentially dangerous suspect being taken off the streets.”
