Oswestry town mayor, councillor Mike Isherwood, has named the council's first Community Champion of the civic year.
Wendy Hickson and her team at U&I Counselling were awarded this honour for their dedication to helping thousands of people in the town before the service closed its doors in July.
At the presentation at The Guildhall, the mayor said: "This award is given to members of our community for their outstanding contributions or achievements.
"The support and service to the community that you and your colleagues at U&I have given should be recognised.
"I am very pleased to present this award to you in acknowledgment of the years of hard work you have given."
Ms Hickson added: "I feel honoured that our work has been appreciated and recognised in this way.
"Thank you so much.
"I am delighted to accept the award for the organisation and my team at U&I Counselling."
