An Oswestry-based lawn care franchise has won a national business award.

GreenThumb, owned by Jason and Vicki Bell, has been recognised for its hard work, customer service, and creation of local jobs.

The franchise covers Oswestry, Bridgnorth, and the surrounding areas.

The Great British Franchisee Awards (GBFA) assesses businesses on various elements such as experience, growth, staff retention, customer satisfaction, community involvement, and leadership.

Servicing the area since 2008, the franchise treats more than 1,900 lawns, ranging from small homes to large estates.

Their focus is on delivering quality customer service and lawn care.

Mr Bell said: "We are hugely proud of our GreenThumb business that we have grown in scale and reputation to be the leading lawn care business across Oswestry and Bridgnorth, so we are delighted to be recognised with this great accolade."

He also thanked their reliable and hardworking team of lawn operatives for their contribution to the business's expansion and success.

The franchise is actively looking to expand its territories within the next six months.

The GBFA judges commended the couple for operating a strong business within the GreenThumb network, effectively utilising each other's skills.

They praised the couple's steady growth of two locations, with plans to open a third, and their creation of a company culture of respect, collaboration, and mutual support.

The judges also noted the couple's dedication to corporate social responsibility and community involvement through events, sponsorship, and charitable activities.

Sue Moore, GreenThumb's franchise development director, said: "Everyone at GreenThumb is thrilled to celebrate Jason and Vicki’s Great British Franchisee Award, which is a testament to their exceptional achievements within the franchise network.

"Since they joined the franchise over 15 years ago, they have been trailblazers in building not only their own local business but the GreenThumb brand in the UK."

GreenThumb is part of a national network of over 220 local territories, with more than 2.5 million treatments carried out each year by professional lawn care teams.
