There has been a rise in fly tipping near Oswestry according to local police officers.

West Mercia Police have said there has been increase in the frequency of fly tipping in the rural area south of Oswestry in recent weeks.

Officers part of Oswestry Safer Neighbourhood Team have said they have been in in contact with local representatives about the increase and are encouraging the public to report incidents.

In a statement online, a spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: “We have noticed an increase of fly-tipping on our area. We have spoken to a member of be Shropshire Council, and made a local parish council aware.
