In a statement online an officer for Ellesmere’s Safer Neighbourhood team said: “We are seeing increasing concerns about youth exploitation and substance misuse in the Ellesmere area. It’s crucial for our community to stay informed and vigilant.
“Let’s work together to protect our youth and create a safer environment. If you see something, say something.”
West Mercia Police have also signposted the public to multiple different organisations for people who may need help with these issues.
These include Hope UK who “equip young people to make drug-free choices”, Catch22 who provide “targeted substance misuse services and building resilience”, the Mix who offer “free and confidential support for young people” and the Children’s Society who “support children and families affected by substance misuse”.
