A CHILD had to be rescued from a locked car by firefighters in Oswestry on Sunday afternoon.
One crew of Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) firefighters from the town was called to Gobowen Road at around 4.30pm.
They were responding to reports that a child had been locked in a car.

A SFRS spokesman confirmed the child was helped by firefighters.
They said: “One child was released from the locked vehicle by fire service personnel.”
A stop message was sent to SFRS control at 4.50pm by firefighters at the scene confirming no further support was required.
