OSWESTRY is yet again in bloom after its hardworking group of volunteers picked up a third straight win at the Heart of England awards.
The Oswestry in Bloom Committee headed to the West Midlands on Friday, September 20 to represent the town in the awards, looking to defend its titles from 2022 and 2023.
And they were left celebrating again at the Manor Hotel in Meriden in Coventry) as Oswestry In Bloom was announced as the winner of Gold and were winner of the Large Town Category.

Chairman of the Oswestry in Bloom committee Natalie Bainbridge said the win is down to how hard the group of volunteers work and the support received from groups such as the town council and BID.

She said: “Winning for the third year in a row is testament to all the amazing community projects, the support from Oswestry Town Council and Oswestry BID, and of course the dedication and commitment of Oswestry in Bloom volunteers.”

A further win for the group came in the form of future representation of the region at the next national events.
Natalie Bainbridge added: “Oswestry In Bloom were also honoured in being nominated to represent the Heart of England in “Britain in Bloom 2025” in the Large Town Category.
“In 2023 the town won “Best Large Town” in the national competition.”
Current Oswestry Town Council member Councillor Olly Rose – a former mayor – is also a committee member with In Bloom and was present at the awards.
She admitted it was a great feeling to be there to watch Oswestry win again and praised everyone involved.
Cllr Rose said “This is another great recognition for the work that Oswestry in Bloom has achieved with all its hardworking volunteers and the strong working partnerships that have been developed with Oswestry Town Council and other organisations in our community.

Oswestry In Bloom is run by a committee of volunteers who plan various events during the year and organise the local In Bloom competition.
The results are greatly appreciated by the local population and visitors alike with some making a special trip after seeing publicity of Oswestry’s success.
