THE Ceiriog Valley Sheepdog Trials and Show has been hailed a resounding success.
Secretary Katie Harold praised competitors, both two and four legged, following the successful edition of the annual event.
She said: "An enormous thank you to all the volunteers who work so hard to make the show a success.
"When the sun is shining, and Tal y Garth fields are full of smiling faces all the hard work feels worthwhile and the whole spirit of the day is a testament to the tremendous teamwork that pulls it all together."
The results were as follows: Sheepdog Trials, Class 1 Open – Aled Owen, Corwen with Llangwm Tom; Class 2 Novice – Elaine Von Dinther, Malpas with Lyn; Class 3 Local – Gethin Jones, Llanarmon with Sid; Class 4 Best Conditioned Sheepdog – Jonty Rayner, Llwynmawr with Jess.
Sheep Section: Overall Winner Interbreed Champion - Cwm y Geifr, Llanarmon D.C.
Shearing: Hand Shearing – Rheinallt Hughes, Llanarmon D.C; Farmers: Arwyn Davies, Bryneglwys; Contractors: Owen Martin-Jones, Tregeiriog.
Companion Dog Show: Pedigree Best in Show: Jade Storey, Closlyn Bych with Cookie Novelty Best in Show: Honey, Shrewsbury with Reggie the Staffie
Horse Section: Supreme Champion: Emma Williams, Llangollen with Caz
Dave Evans Memorial Trophy for the Rider who Most Encapsulates the Feeling of the Show: Libby Heyward with Rosie
