An Oswestry school is inviting prospective families to its open day.

Moreton Hall, which was named Boarding School of the Year in 2021, will welcome parents and children from reception through to sixth form on September 28 at 10am.

The school, which has a nursery, prep school, senior school, and sixth form, says it is built on the values of embrace, achieve, and enjoy.

It also says it delivers an "ambitious and innovative academic curriculum" alongside "outstanding pastoral care" and high-end facilities.

91 per cent of Moreton Hall students received their first choice of university, most of which were Russell Group institutions.

This year's GCSE results saw a 99 per cent pass rate, with every pupil achieving the highest possible grade of a 9 in drama.

A-level drama students achieved a combination of A*s and As across the board.

The school says its pupils progress into a variety of fields, from national and international sports teams to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and Oxbridge.

Last year, Moreton Hall underwent a £1 million refurbishment, benefiting not only current pupils and families but also the wider community.

The school's 25-metre indoor swimming pool, home to local competitive swimming groups Oswestry Otters and Chirk Dragons, was fully refurbished and reopened in March.

Moreton Hall is predominantly a boarding school at the senior level, with day students fully integrated and given the option of flexi-boarding.
