Crews were called to Chirk after a 40-foot oak tree caught fire.
Oswestry fire crew were called to Chirk Bank on Saturday morning (August 31) to assist North Wales crews after reports of a fire in the open in the area.
When crews arrived at the scene they found a 40 foot oak tree on fire which took well over an hour to extinguish.

A spokesperson for Shropshire Fire and rescue Service said: “At 10:07 on Saturday, August 31, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Wrexham.
“One fire appliance including the Landrover Pump was mobilised from Oswestry.
“Crews used a Hosereel jet to tackle the fire.
“A 40ft oak tree 50% involved in fire. Crews extinguished the fire using a hosereel jet with assistance from North Wales Llangollen crews.”
