A PUB on the Wrexham-Shropshire border has announced its closure with a "heavy heart".
The Bridge Inn, in Chirk, has announced that it has closed its doors with immediate effect.

"But we can’t take the pub to the next level. We hand the keys over today."

However, it is hoped that The Bridge Inn, known locally as The Trap, won't be closed for long.
The spokesperson added: "Admiral Taverns (pub group) is interviewing for new tenants so hopefully it won’t be closed for long and I wish whoever takes it on all the best as it’s a fantastic pub."
The pub has an average 4.4 out of 5 star rating from Google reviews, with many people praising it for the quality of its food and friendly atmosphere.
People describe it as a "great pub" with "friendly" and "welcoming" staff.
