AN APPEAL to return the bleed kit used in the Morda stabbing last month has been made so it can be restocked.

The bag, which sits in the defibrillator box at the junction of Morda Bank and Trefonen Road, was used to treat a stabbing victim on July 19.

However, according to Oswestry Community First Responders – which manages the bleed kits costing around £700 per bag – it has not been returned since and is depriving the community of something that could help in an incident.

Kodi Bond, a first responder, has urged anyone with information or knowledge the bag’s location to ensure its return so it can be restocked with the equipment required.

“Ultimately we just want the bag back so that it can be restocked,” she said.

“It was taken during the incident in Morda and hasn’t been put back yet – we’re not sure who has taken it so this is why we’re launching this appeal.

“We need to have it returned so that it can be restocked.

“The presence of this kit is very important so it’s vital that it is returned as it needs to be refilled and be used for the community.

“We’re looking for any information of who might have taken it as we don’t know if was the police or if it was taken in the ambulance on the evening it was used.

“Or if it’s been left by someone or outdoors – we just need to know, or if they know the code for the box, please put it back and let us know.

Kodi added that if anyone felt they would be criticised for keeping hold of the bag by accident, then that would not be the case.

‘We’re not looking to blame anyone for taking it – we just want it back,” she said.

“It’s a charity donation to ensure it’s there for the community’s use so if it doesn’t get put back, then they miss out on something very vital for them.”

Previously, Kodi had urged the public across Oswestry to remain vigilant over monitoring bleed kits, and reporting any drops in equipment available.

Training is also available on how to use the kits effectively for victims of stabbings or trauma, such as a road traffic collision.
