Rob said he was looking forward to returning to the school.
He added: “I loved my time at school and have plenty of stories to tell from the film and TV sector to support a new Performing Arts Centre.
“One of the reasons I’ve been able to do all that I’ve done in my life is because of my time at Oswestry School.
“I still do all my own stunts and that goes back to my CCF days.”
Former pupils, teachers and support staff are urged to attend the dinner hosted by the Old Oswestrian Society, which is expected to be an entertaining evening of catching up with school friends and colleagues, as well as celebrating more than 617 years of Oswestry School.
Mr McCrea, who also does his own stunts, attended the school between 1981 and 1984 will be joined by his father Frank McCrea, a popular teacher who taught at the school for over 30 years.
The dinner will form part of the school’s annual Founder’s Day celebration – a full day of activities which includes a service at St. Oswald's Parish Church and sports for former pupils on the Maes-y-Llan playing fields.
This year’s celebration will also focus on the school’s major fundraising campaign to create a new Performing Arts Centre which will benefit both the school and the community.
To celebrate the school’s strong performing arts legacy, Rob will talk about his career in the TV and film industry and how his time at Oswestry School supported his career path.
