THE owner of an Oswestry shop has admitted her ‘delight and pride’ at being named the best for Yodel deliveries out of 6,5000 nationwide locations.

Tina Evans, who owns and operates EG Evans & Tina in York Street, was named the latest ‘Store of the Quarter’ by UK parcel carrier Yodel for outstanding customer support and service to the community, beating thousands of stores nationwide.

The award recognises excellent customer satisfaction and service levels across the Deliver to Yodel Store network.

OTHER NEWS:

EG Evans & Tina has been a hub of the community of Oswestry since Tina’s mum opened the shop in 1969, handling more than 1,000 parcels a quarter for Yodel, with an outstanding rating of five stars through Yodel’s in-house Have Your Say customer feedback survey.

Tina thanked everyone for their support and added that she hopes it will make the business more attractive to prospective new owners as she eyes retirement.

“I can’t tell you just how proud I am of my team – they’re so good,” said Tina.

“The customers bring the packages here and they can send them or collection them and a driver from Yodel comes from Monday through to Saturday to collect or deliver them.

“We’ve become quite a little important hub to people in the area for their packages.

“I’m so proud – I really am.

“It’s given the shop a new lease of life and as I am looking to sell it, so that I can retire, I hope that as it’s another string to the shop’s bow, it will attract people into buying a strong business.

“I’m looking to retire – I want some time to myself, my partner Mike and Buttons, our six-year-old sprocker dog who the customers all adore.”

She added: “Being a part of the Deliver to Yodel Store network has really supported our business in getting people through the door, and is an invaluable service for people in the area.

“We’re really excited to have been recognised for our work and are grateful to Yodel and all our loyal customers who have made this possible.”

Local courier Balasooriya Kankanamalage, who drops and collects parcels from the store, and delivers 150 parcels per day to the surrounding area, was also commended as part of the accompanying ‘Driver of the Quarter’ award.

The award is granted to drivers in conjunction with recognised stores to reward couriers who provide high-quality service and showcase their commitment to deliveries and customers in the area.
