REPORTS of people trapped in a house fire in the early hours of Thursday in Oswestry was a false alarm with good intent, firefighters have said.
Two Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) crews, from Oswestry and Ellesmere, was sent to York Street at around 12.30am while an operations officer was in attendance.
A spokesman for the service confirmed that two crews were sent to the property.

They said: “This incident was a false alarm with good intent.
“A thorough search was carried out with thermal image camera though nothing found and advice given.”
A stop message was sent to SFRS control around 20 minutes later to confirm no further support was needed.
