Two cleanliness technicians are the latest RJAH Stars Award winners at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Shropshire.
Morgan Pugh and Hayley Shepperd are this month's winners at the Oswestry hospital.
This award is presented monthly to deserving staff who go above and beyond their duties, and are nominated by their colleagues.
The pair, who work the evening cleaning shift, were nominated by Elaine Richardson, an oncology Macmillan nurse specialist, who said: "I would like to recognise Morgan and Hayley following feedback I received from an elderly patient.
"Following a procedure on Montgomery Unit, I checked in with her to update over the phone.
"It was during this phone call she re-told the story about how the service at the hospital was fantastic, but once finished, she was left to wait for her hospital transport in the main entrance.
"Time passed and by 7pm her hospital transport still hadn’t arrived.
"Morgan and Hayley went above and beyond to ensure she felt secure and safe, made her a cup of tea and, quite amazingly, talked to ambulance crews outside the hospital to take her home.
"They are true stars."

Ms Morgan said: "I was completely shocked to find out we’d won the RJAH Stars Award, and I’d like to thank Elaine for her really kind words."
Ms Shepperd added: "We’re delighted that we could help that patient and ensure she returned home safely after her appointment."
Stacey Keegan, chief executive, presented the awards, which included a certificate, vouchers, and a box of chocolates donated by the League of Friends.
She said: "Our patients are at the heart of everything we do, and this nomination really stood out to me as two members of non-clinical staff who put patients first and went above and beyond.
"Congratulations to both Morgan and Hayley, they are worthy winners."
