A SUSPECTED gas leak that led to Oswestry firefighters being called out to the Gledrid A5 services overnight turned out to be a false alarm.
One Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) from the town was sent to the services at the Gledrid Roundabout at around 12.40am.
The call was made after a smell of gas was reported but after a thorough search with a gas monitor, firefighters were satisfied there was no leak.

“This incident was found to be a false alarm after checks with a gas monitor.”
A stop message was sent to SFRS control at around 2am to confirm no further support was needed.
