The A5 is back open as normal after a milk tanker overturned.

The road was closed on the A5/A483 between Mile End and Whittington after a milk taker overturned - spilling gallons of milk across the highway which took hours to clear.

The tanker overturned close to the Whittington side of the ‘dumb-bell’ roundabout system and the new, unopened bridge that will join both sides of the major road.

Multiple Shropshire Fire and Rescue crews were called from Ellesmere, Oswestry, Tweedale and Wellington after the tanker overturned at 6pm yesterday evening (July 26).
