A MILK tanker overturned on a major Oswestry road, causing chaos for peak-hour traffic for commuters on the A483.
The tanker overturned close to the Whittington side of the ‘dumb-bell’ roundabout system and the new, unopened bridge that will join both sides of the major road.
The overturned tanker, which was attended to by Shropshire firefighters from Oswestry, Ellesmere, Tweedale and Wellington, closed the A5/A483 between Mile End and Whittington.

A spokesman for Oswestry station said: “A milk tanker was reported on its side.
“While 16P2 was responding to this call, another call was received for 16P4 to attend to Abraham Court due to alarms activated by burnt cooking.
“We urge everyone to stay safe and alert on the roads.”
