A CAT rescuer has thanked staff at the Cadbury factory in Chirk for going "above and beyond" to help save a mother and its kittens at the site.
Paul Conway, who runs the Candy and Tibby Trust cat rescue charity in Wrexham, said he was called to assist with the rescue of the feline family.
He said: "At the beginning of the year five friendly kittens were dumped by Chirk train station. Two were taken in by member's of the public the other three disappeared so residents hoped they had found homes and were safe.
"A couple of weeks ago a lovely couple in Chirk called Phil and Marian found a very friendly, thin, black mum and three black kittens sleeping rough in their garden. They made a little shelter for them and fed them, gaining mum's trust and two of the kittens allowed them to handle them.
"Phil and Marian contacted a number of rescues, but nobody was able to help, at this time they were not aware of my rescue."

Paul said that last week management of the Cadbury factory in Chirk contacted the charity asking for help as the mum and kittens had moved onto their site.
"They were concerned for their welfare because mum was begging for food and the risk of them getting hurt by trucks, etc," Paul said.
"Unfortunately because kind members of staff had been feeding mum she panicked and moved them behind a perimeter fence. I managed to crawl under the fence catching mum and then late that night we managed to catch all three kittens. The kittens are now safe in our premises.
"Management went out of their way to help me catch them giving me access to the site and we are so thankful to them."
Paul said they have named the kittens Whisper, Buttons and Freddo (after the Cadburys products).
The mum (named Shadow) has also been taken in by the charity.
Paul added that the kittens and Shadow are now healthy - with mum feeding them. "She's a good mum and only a baby herself, she is about 7-8 months old," he said.
