West Mercia Police have confirmed that a man has been charged with six offences following a stabbing on the outskirts of Oswestry.

A 24-year-old named Robert North, from Weston Close in Morda, near Oswestry, has been charged with six offences after the incident.

The incident took place at a property on Weston Close in Morda, on Friday, July 19, officers were called to the property at around 9pm where they found one man with what appeared to be stab wounds.

The victim, 43, was taken to the Royal Stoke Hospital with serious injuries not thought to be life threatening.

Mr North was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder, while another man, 37, was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of an offensive weapon and obstructing police and a third man, 53, was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.

He has now been charged with two counts of wounding with intent, two counts of possession of a knife blade or sharp pointed article in a public place and two counts of assaulting a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm.

He is set to appear in Kidderminster Magistrates' Court on Monday, July 22.
