A SINGING schoolboy from Dudleston is making his family and teachers proud as he continues to blaze a trail for himself at a competition.

Sean Curteis, 12, attends Prestfelde school in Shrewsbury, and is currently competing in the national talent competition, Talent Search UK 2024.

Beating off stiff competition from hundreds of adult and child musicians from across the UK, Sean continues to win the hearts of the judges, and is now set to compete in the quarter-finals.

Prestfelde School’s Director of Music, Pip Jopling, is very proud of Sean’s success in the show.

He said: “Having dazzled us all with a winning entry into a House music competition here at school, I was not surprised of Sean’s successful audition and admission into the competition, and then subsequently, his amazing progression.

“A confident and talented performer, I have every confidence that Sean has what he needs to go all the way to the Finals.

“We all have our fingers crossed for him and wish him the very best of luck.”

Aged just 12, Sean is one of the youngest contenders in the show which is streamed on YouTube.

A piano player, he has sung Fly Me to the Moon, most famously crooned by Frank Sinatra, as well as Lewis Capaldi and Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody.

Showcasing his talent on a weekly basis in front of a live audience, Sean and his family – including parents Shane and Henry Curteis – have been making the trip to the studios in Cardiff as his position in the Competition has progressed.

A school spokesman added: “Sean’s natural talent for singing and playing the piano have been spotted on several occasions while he has been growing up.
