An Oswestry Charity shop has asked people to stop stealing items from their store.

Farplace Animal Rescue shop on English Walls in Oswestry has put out a statement to the public asking for help to tackle crime in their shop after “a spate of thefts”.

In a statement online the management of the shop said multiple items had been stolen in recent weeks including clothing and display items.

“We are extremely sad and frustrated to report that there has been a spate of thefts here at Farplace Animal Rescue shop in Oswestry,” said a spokesperson for the shop.

“As a charity, it is our job to raise funds for the work that the charity does and if items are disappearing without being paid for it makes all of our jobs far more difficult.

“We appreciate that times are hard for many people, however, this does not excuse the levels of theft that we are currently experiencing. This includes items being taken from shelves, clothes being taken from the rails, CDs and tapes being taken from their cases, and larger items from our displays - it is unacceptable.”
