Police are asking for assistance after a child’s bike was destroyed and thrown into a trolley park window in Oswestry.

West Mercia Police are asking for help from witnesses after a group of youths used a child’s bike to damage property at The Range on Beatrice Street on Friday evening (June 28).

According to Oswestry Safer Neighbourhood Team, the bike was initially smashed to bits by the group.

After this they were caught on CCTV throwing the bike in the trolley bay window in the car park leaving it smashed.

West Mercia Police have said that they hope to bring the people involved to justice “quickly” and are also looking for the owner of the bike.

A spokesperson for Oswestry Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “This child's bike was vandalised by a group of youths on The Range car park, Beatrice Street on 28/06/24 at 20:00 approx, it was then thrown into a trolley bay window causing it to smash. 

“We have CCTV footage which shows the offence taking place and hopefully the offenders brought to justice quickly, we would like to trace the owner of the bike if possible too.

“If you witnessed the incident taking place and have any information relating to the offenders, you witnessed the damage taking place and would be willing to provide a statement or knowledge of the bike/owner.”
