ONE of the highlights of the Ellesmere calendar is back next week as the regatta returns to the Mere to raise money for charities.
The regatta – organised by Ellesmere Rotary Club – will take place from 11.30am on Sunday, July 7 and raises funds for a number of charities in the town.
Rotary spokesman and mayor of Ellesmere, Graham Hutchinson, said that they were looking forward to the event.

He said: “Spectators will be gathering in Cremorne Gardens to watch the races.
“Bell Boat races will continue throughout the afternoon to produce winners in the four categories of Open, Ladies, Junior and Family.
“In addition to the racing, Cremorne Gardens will have an array of stalls, refreshments and entertainments for all the family to enjoy.
