She made the move north from Hampshire to Shropshire this month and wants to continue her work with the breed of dog she loves most.

Gill explained: “Spaniels are such wonderful companions.

“If you and family enjoy walking, running, swimming, kayaking or paddleboarding they will love to join in the fun and so will cockapoos as they often have strong spaniel traits.

"Spaniels were originally bred for searching for finding and chasing birds or animals for food or sport and it’s important that these needs are met.

“If not this can lead to problem behaviour.

“A Speaking Spaniel programmes will help you understand your spaniel’s needs, instincts, personality and finding ways to let them use their natural instincts in a fun and safe way.”

Spaniels, cockapoos and other spaniel mixes are extremely popular and over the last 10 years, cocker spaniel registrations by the Kennel Club increased from 22.000 in 2014 to 26,000 in 2023.

Gill says she has two Spaniels in Morris, aged 13 and Cleo who is seven, and offers personalised programmes to help owners learn about their own dogs’ needs, personality and natural instincts and building communication, confidence and relationship.

Gill added: “I created Speaking Spaniel due to my lifelong love of spaniels, learning from my own dogs and my continued studies.

“My programmes for spaniel owners will include directing their natural instincts such as searching, hunting and chasing in safe and fun ways.

“They are fun, energetic, loving, independent and loyal making them ideal family pets, and love nothing more than being in the centre of family life.

“According to Spaniel Aid UK many spaniels are rehomed because the families find their energy hard to cope with and when it isn’t channelled correctly it can lead to more serious behaviour issues.”

Gill added she is excited about her new adventure in Shropshire and is looking forward to meeting supporting families and their gorgeous spaniels and cockapoos.
