Students from around the region had the chance to try different NHS career options at a recent open day at an Oswestry hospital.

The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital hosted a hands-on career day, providing insights into the varied professions within the NHS to dozens of eager students from across the county.

The event was organised by the hospital’s Widening Participation team, who invited schools and colleges from throughout the county, mid and North Wales, to take part.

Students, between 14 to 18 years old participated, engaging with different hospital departments that hosted stands showcasing their roles and equipment.

Chloe Hughes, a teacher from Shrewsbury Colleges Group, said: "The students had a great time and came away with lots of knowledge and a gift.
