SIMON Baynes, the Conservative candidate for North Shropshire in July’s General Election, has officially bid farewell to his former Clwyd South constituents.

Mr Baynes won the seat at the 2019 General Election, beating Labour incumbent Susan Elan Jones as part of the so-called ‘Red Wall’ fell, with nearby Wrexham also turning blue.

With his constituency being merged into Montgomeryshire, Mr Baynes was given the opportunity to keep a place at Parliament by taking on Helen Morgan in North Shropshire, replacing Dean Carroll who had been in prime position for the role.
