OWNERS of a new health business in Oswestry have said they were ‘blown away’ by the success of an open day last week.

Woods Orthotics, in the Cambrian buildings in Thomas Savin Road – close to the medical centre – held an open day for residents, patients and health professionals alike on Wednesday, May 22.

Tom Woods has set up the business with wife Ffion and the pair were joined on the day by family members helping out, welcoming colleagues from as far as Staffordshire to show them what they can offer.

And he added that there was a steady stream of people giving their backing to an Oswestry business that many could benefit from.

He said: “It was more just an introductory day for what we offer than offering clinical thing to people,” said Thom.

“We had some people coming to it who were other medical professionals.

“We had physios and massage therapist, for example, who travelled distances to get to the open day to see what we could offer their clients.

“It was a bit of mixed bag in terms of that type of professional and other people just wanting to come to see us.

“We started it at 11am and from then until about 2pm, it was non-stop – either I or Ffion would be talking to people.

“Luckily, we had family members who came to help and they greeted people.

“There was a bit of a lull until about 3.30pm and then it was busy all the way until 6.30pm as more professionals, such as gym owners etc, all came to see us.

“It was a great day and we were able to raise awareness for what we do and we’ glad it went so well.

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended. Your support at our opening and the time you took to visit are deeply appreciated.”

Visitors to the open day were treated to refreshments, a raffle and a chance to pick the brains of Tom and Ffion.
