A MAJOR Ellesmere employer has confirmed its operation in the town will no longer continue in the same way but did commit to a future there.
Fullwood JOZ announced last month that its workforce at the dairy equipment plant in Grange Road would undergo a consultation period about whether to leave the company or re-locate to its plant in Holland.
The company has confirmed the consultation period is over and Fullwood Joz will be relocating its operation to the Netherlands, leading to some of the 70 jobs believed to be at the site to be lost.

However, some jobs will remain in the town at a new facility, the company has confirmed.
A spokesman said: “We can hereby confirm that we have come to a closure of an extensive consultation process with our employees.
“The conclusion has been reached that it is no longer viable to operate our business in the same way from our current site at Grange Road, Ellesmere.
“Based on this conclusion, we will relocate Fullwood JOZ’s operational activities from our current Ellesmere plant to Fullwood JOZ’s Agriport plant in The Netherlands.
“Therefore, unfortunately some of our colleagues will be leaving us over the next few months.
“Our dedicated UK customer and technical teams will move to a new facility in Ellesmere in the coming weeks.
“We are committed as ever to deliver best in class products for the farming and dairy industry.”

The site in Grange Road was put up for sale with a Shrewsbury-based agent at the start of 2024 for around £2 million as it could no longer be developed.
It had been expected that Fullwood would have kept its operation in the area, with sites in Wrexham mooted for a new base.
However, it was confirmed by bosses that the bulk of the engineering and production work will now be undertaken in the Netherlands.
