A CHIRK nursery manager has spoken of her delight to have been incited to visit 10 Downing Street in London recently.
Vicki Mitchell, manager of Manford’s Little Lambs in Castle Road, joined outgoing Clwyd South MP Simon Baynes at the home of government last month for a reception.
The reception was to celebrate the work of Community Childcare Champions and was hosted by the Minister for Children, Families and Wellbeing, David Johnston OBE MP.

She said: “It was an honour to be invited.
“We have a great team at Manford’s Little Lambs who work hard to provide the best care to each child that we have the privilege of looking after.
“It was nice that our success was acknowledged by Simon.”
Manford’s Little Lambs is based in Castle Road in Chirk.
Last year, their work was recognised when they received the prestigious Healthy and Sustainable Pre-School Scheme National Award from the Welsh Government.
The reward was received for demonstrating that they have implemented actions that have covered a wide range of health issues including nutrition and oral health, physical activity/active play, mental and emotional health, wellbeing and relationships, environment, safety, hygiene and workplace health and wellbeing.
Mr Baynes said he was delighted top be able to invite Vicki to Downing Street to commend her for the work done at the nursery.
He added: “Manford’s Little Lambs is an award-winning nursery in Chirk whose staff work tirelessly to provide the best possible start in life.
“I am proud to have been able to recognise the hard work and success of Vicki and her team by welcoming her to No 10 Downing Street with Mr Johnston and I wish them every continued success in the future.”

Mr Johnston celebrated the event and thanked all those who attended.
He said: "It was great to be able to say thank you to some of our fantastic early years workforce, who do so much to help give every child the best start in life and support parents to work.
“This Government is making the single biggest investment that's ever been made in childcare and we're delighted that the attendees yesterday have already helped us provide more than 200,000 people with the first 15 hours of funded childcare for their two-year-olds."
