TREFONEN Football Club celebrated the Llansantffraid Village Cup on Friday night.
Two goals from Harry Kerr inspired the Pitmen to a 3-2 win over local rivals Four Crosses Reserves at Llansantffraid Football Club’s Treflan and lift the silverware for the first time.
Andy Garmston fired the Shropshire side into a 10th minute lead before Crosses replied through Reuben Coslett-Hughes.
Kerr restored Trefonen’s advantage before the break and doubled his tally before Crosses set up a tense finale with a late penalty from Will Howard but the Pitmen held firm.

Manager Chris Grommell said: “At the start of the season we set ourselves a target, winning the Llansantffraid Village Cup, the only domestic cup that we failed to win last season despite reaching the final.
“I could not be prouder of this team and what they have achieved in the last two seasons.
“To go from the prospect of just fielding a team to now sat here having won three domestic cup trophies is an unbelievable achievement from the lads and they should all be proud of what has been achieved.
“It gives me great pleasure to say I was part of this team.”
