THE actor cast as British icon Cilla Black in the upcoming new series of Doctor Who will also be coming to Oswestry in the summer.
Josie Sedgwick-Davies, a Scouser like the singer and TV presenter behind shows like ‘Blind Date’ and ‘Surprise, Surprise’, will play ‘Our Cilla’ in the second episode of new Doctor Ncuti Gatwa’s first series as the 15th incarnation of the Timelord.
Josie, who also lent her vocal talents to the last Chicken Run film in 2023, will pop up in the show as Cilla as the 15th Doctor meets John, Paul, George and Ringo aka The Beatles.
The episode will be called ‘The Devil’s Chord’ and will be part of a double-header of episodes on Saturday, May 11.

But Josie is also the patron of Hector’s Greyhound rescue and even carries the charity’s social media handle and links to the charity on her X account.
Hayley Bradley, founder of Hector’s Greyhound Rescue, said Josie will be at the show on Sunday, June 23 at Oswestry Showground.
She said: “At Hector's, we're bursting with pride for our patron, Josie!
“Her talent shines as she steps into the iconic role of Cilla Black in Doctor Who.
“It's a testament to her incredible skill and she is totally dedicated to the rescue.
“We couldn't be happier to see her soar in her career. Go, Josie!”
The Hector’s Summer Dog Show will open at 11am and the judging will start at 12 noon.
