FIREFIGHTERS from Oswestry were called to a car fire outside the town on Thursday night.
One Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) crew from Oswestry attended the incident in Twmpath Lane in Gobowen at 7.50pm.
A SFRS spokesman confirmed the fire was put out prior to firefighters arriving but safety checks were taken.

They added: “Crews used a thermal imaging camera to tackle the fire.

“It was a small fire involving an engine compartment extinguished on-site by staff prior to fire service arrival.
“Inspection only.”
A stop message was sent to SFRS control confirming no further assistance was needed almost immediately.
