A YELLOW warning has been issued for Shropshire with snow set to bring disruption to he county for 24 hours.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow, coming into effect on Thursday, February 8, at 3am and lasting until Friday, February 9, also at 3am.

The yellow weather warning will affect all of Shropshire including Oswestry, Whitchurch and Ellesmere, as well as over the border in Chirk and Llanfyllin.

Meteorologists are warning that there is a chance of power cuts, and mobile phone signal disruptions.

Met Office officials added: “There is a small chance that power cuts will occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected.

“There is a slight chance that some rural communities could become cut off.

“There is a small chance of travel delays on roads with some stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel.”
