MULTIPLE closures are set to take place on the A5, between Oswestry and Wrexham, as roadworks and Storm Isha are set to create delays for motorists.
Traffic Wales has announced that roadworks and the impending storm will create road closures on the main stretch of road between Oswestry and Wrexham.
They posted on X that the A5 at Whitehurst Roundabout in Chirk is set to undergo roadworks and will result in an overnight closure at the beginning of the week.

Officials wrote: “Two-way traffic lights on the A5 with the B5070 Holyhead Road approach closed.”
An over 10 miles diversion has been put in place during this time.
The closure is set to start on Monday, January 22, at 7pm, and is expected to last until the following morning at 6am.

Traffic Wales has also revealed that they are arranging traffic management on the A5 in Ceiriog and the A483 at the Dee Viaduct to prepare for Storm Isha’s high winds.
They wrote on X: “We're currently arranging traffic management on the A5 Ceiriog and A483 Dee Viaduct to prepare for high winds tomorrow due to Storm Isha.
“There will be lane closures in place on the A483 prior to J1 Ruabon to support a potential full closure.”
Officials warned that the full closure is “required”.

They added: “The traffic management needs to be set out now while winds are lower.
“A full closure is required due to wind speeds as a precautionary measure.
“Please note that due to the landslip on B5605 Newbridge the diversion route has been extended.
“Think is your journey essential.”
