WITNESSES to a serious collision on the A483 in the early hours of 2024 near Oswestry are being sought by West Mercia Police.
A pedestrian, believed to be a man, was taken to hospital after the incident in Sweeney at around 2am and is in a critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
PC Mark Hobden, from West Mercia Police, said a woman seen walking along the road is of interest to them and urged anyone with potential dashcam footage to come forward.

He said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision on Monday (January 1) on the A483 in Sweeney, Oswestry.
“The collision happened at around 2am between a pedestrian and a car. The pedestrian was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains in a critical condition.
“We are interested to speak to anyone who saw a woman walking along the A483 carriageway around the time of the incident or anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or has dashcam footage.”
The incident had seen Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service called out to find the woman after a concerned driver reported her walking along the road.
