A MAN was hit by a car on a main road past Oswestry early on New Year's Day - in an incident which also saw drone operators called to search for a woman reportedly walking on the trunk road.
At about 2am on January 1, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service received a report from a concerned driver who reported seeing a female alone on the A483 between Sweeney and Llynclys, near Oswestry.
Concerned for the woman’s welfare, the police responded, but arrived that a collision outside the Llynclys pumpkin farm had occurred between a male pedestrian and a car.

Oswestry Fire Station posted on Facebook: “Despite efforts from firefighters, who implemented a drone search, the female couldn't be located.
“The male was transported to hospital via land ambulance.
“There is no indication that the male and female were connected in any way.”
Crews sent a stop message to control, two hours later, at around 4am.
